Online Bingo Chat Etiquette

November 2nd, 2010 admin No comments

When in Bingo chat rooms, you are encouraged to speak your mind, get to know your fellow Players and above all, have fun. However in order to make the online bingo experience as rewarding as possible, but please keep the following rules in mind:

Say hi whenever you enter a chat room, and be friendly to your fellow chatters and CMs (Chat Moderators). It’s just good netiquette. Learn a few chat terms.

If you spot any newbies, welcome them to the chat rooms and bear with them till they become comfortable with the online chat experience. Remember – you were new once too!

USING CAPITAL LETTERS IS NOT ON. Capital letters are the online equivalent of shouting, and are considered extremely rude. CMs may use capital letters from time to time.
Improve your online chatting experience by using emoticons, e.g. (happy), (sad), etc.

Don’t disturb the peace of the chat room by insulting, offending or provoking anyone, the CMs will boot you out. Ditto for offensive, abusive and discriminatory language.

Keep it clean when it comes to choosing your chat name, or you will be asked to pick something else.

No gossip about other Players will be tolerated, especially if they are not present in the chat room at the time.

Be a good sport and congratulate your fellow Players when they win. What goes around comes around.

Finally, keep in mind that the CMs are there to help you, not hassle you, so please don’t give them a hard time. Help them help you.

How to Win at Online Bingo

November 2nd, 2010 admin No comments

Bingo is often considered a pure game of chance, so is it possible to improve your chance of winning? Although there are no formal gambling systems designed to improve your chance at winning at bingo, smart play can increase your chances against the house and improve your chances of winning that big bingo jackpot.

Online bingo games usually take two forms – US style bingo which is generally played with 75 balls and UK style bingo which is generally played with 90 balls. In US bingo there is generally a pattern which has to be completed to win the game – and the first person to complete that pattern is the winner. In UK bingo however, there are generally three stages to the bingo game. Prizes are awarded for completing one line, two lines and finally a larger prize is paid for getting a full house – so your chances of winning a prize in a 90 ball game is 3 times greater than in a 75 ball game!

Another thing to consider is the amount of players which the bingo hall attracts. Some of the largest online bingo games attract hundreds of players per game, whereas a smaller bingo room may only have a core of about twenty active players per game. Obviously statistically, the more players a bingo game has the less your theoretical odds of winning are – however this must be weighed up against the much higher prizes offered in a large bingo game. You may win every few games in a smaller bingo game – but the prize may be an average of maybe 8 or so times your stake, whereas in a large bingo game the prize may be over 100 times your stake.

Lastly, many online bingo halls give away freebies to encourage new players to try out their sites. This may be in the form of a no deposit bonus – usually this is given in the form of bingo bucks which can be used only for bingo or sometimes free cards. Some bingo sites give away free cash which can also be used on the slots, scratch cards and other games which the site offers. In addition many bingo halls will give a bonus either in cash or bingo bucks on every deposit you make, which can help your money stretch further and perhaps even put you in line for that big win. If you do decide to take advantage of these no deposit bonuses – its important to remember that most bingo halls will not let you cash out without having first made a deposit- so these bonuses should be viewed as a way of making your bingo money stretch further, rather than a free lunch!

So, although lady luck will always cast the deciding vote in making you a big winner, by following these strategies you can improve your odds against the house, and at the very least make your bingo money stretch much further!

# Double if you have 10 or 11 points in your hand.
# Don’t Split pairs if you have 4′s or 5′s.
# In general, Stand if you have 16 or better.
# Stand only at 18 or better if the dealer is showing a Ten or Face card.

General Tips for Playing Blackjack
There is some strategy and thought involved in your success, and this allows people to feel some sense of control over their play. With this idea in mind, it’s very important to know the game well and to have some tips at your fingertips before jumping into playing. Here, we provide some important ideas for you to get started.

1. Take advantage of their bonuses, which are good for all the online Blackjack games they offer.
2. Next, take a look at the many Blackjack strategy tables offered. Stick to the odds as much as possible. If you are playing Blackjack in an online casino, keep a blackjack basic strategy table next to your computer.
3. An educated Blackjack player certainly has a better chance of winning than one who is playing blindly. But Blackjack is still a game with a lot of chance. You must remember this so that you don’t get frustrated or swear off the tables and declare that they do not work.
4. Since Blackjack is such a popular game with a rich history, it has developed into many different versions of the game. Before you start to play, pay attention to the rules of each game. The payouts for these different games are basically the same odds, but the rules might be different.
5. Never assume that the dealer has a ten. This assumption often causes you to make silly moves and Stand before it is necessary. This is a very important and easy tip to follow.
Managing Your Money
6. Start off playing with small bets. Don’t jump into a very high betting game. If you blow all of your money early on – you won’t be able to continue to play.
7. Finally set yourself a betting limit. Before starting to play, decide how much money you are willing to bet, how much you are willing to lose, and how much you are willing to win. If you lose your limit, stop playing. If you start to win, put the winnings aside and play from your initial money. If you reach your winning limit, walk away and feel successful.

Don’t push your luck in one sitting.

Enjoy Playing Blackjack
Blackjack requires a sensible head, common sense and some luck. With the above tips in mind, you can become a successful Blackjack player and enjoy the game. Remember that nothing is a guarantee; it is the luck of the draw and sensible betting actions that will help you to win. Blackjack is a game of both skill and luck that can be fun and rewarding if played correctly. Enjoy!

Rummy History

October 28th, 2010 admin No comments

Rummy is a family of games all sharing the “draw and discard” structure. Besides this unique play pattern, the main goal is to get rid of all of the cards in your hand by forming either sets or runs. All of the Rummy games contain some kind of a scoring system making the play for money much more attractive. There are many theories regarding the origins of the Rummy games, each one attributes the invention of the game to different people or nations around the world.

The Orient
One of the earliest card games to incorporate this play pattern is the Chinese card game from the 18th century named Mahjong (see also, Mah-Jong, Mah-Jongg, Mai-Jiang). Soon enough, many western versions appeared worldwide, bearing names such Conquian, kanhoo and others. The common assumption regarding the swift spread of these card games and their variations is attributed to Chinese immigrants, British and Portuguese merchants who were familiarized with the game during their stay in the mainland.

Mexico
Some versions trace the Rummy origins to the Spanish game “Conquian”, brought to America by the Spanish communities to immigrate west. David Parlett considers this game to be the ancestor of all Rummy games, and mentions its similarity to the popular modern game of Gin Rummy.
Rummy is a family of games that share a similar structure. All these games include a similar game play pattern that consists of drawing and discarding a card during each turn. This is done in order to help players meld the cards in their hands into sets and runs. A set is a three or four cards meld of the same rank. A Run is a three or more consecutive cards of the same suit.

The most popular variant of the Rummy games is Gin Rummy. Most versions state that the game was invented in New York during the early decades of the 20th century.
It is believed the game’s name derives from its inventor’s fondness of the alcoholic drink of Gin. The game became most popular when it was adopted by Hollywood’s elite and famous movie stars back in the 1930′s for they enjoyed playing this exciting and quick game on the set during takes. Another reason for the Rummy games’ popularity is believed to result from the great depression period, when people did not have many financial resources to engage in outdoors entertainment activity, and turned for some indoors quality time with family and friends.

In the last couple of years, many Rummy variants have gone online, offering players from all over the world to join in play and enjoy the variety of Rummy entertaining qualities. Whether it’s about people who grew up playing the Rummy games, or the new ones to pick them up, the Rummy games are here to stay for many generations to come. Joining people in play and providing them with the ultimate quality time, the Rummy games continue to play a dominant role and always have a special, fun and exciting variation to offer to each and every one of us.

Blackjack Strategy Part Two

October 28th, 2010 admin No comments

This strategy guide is provided for information only and is intended to be used with standard single player, 3-player and 5-player Blackjack games.
Because of the random way in which cards are dealt in Blackjack, sustained winning and losing streaks are possible and using this strategy is no guarantee of any specific outcome.
Playing Optimal Strategy Blackjack is no guarantee of success but does offer the best odds over a sustained period of time.

The random nature in which cards are dealt in Blackjack means that there can never be a system that guarantees a successful outcome of any hand for a player. However, there are ways in which you can maximise your chances of taking advantage of the best odds available to the player in any given situation.

Depending upon which cards you hold and the value of the dealer’s face-up card there are courses of action you can take which are considered to be statistically the most advantageous way to play.

A “hard number” is one which is made up of two cards not containing an Ace. A “soft number” is one which contains an Ace and has two potential values. For example, if you have A-5 then you have either 6 or 16, giving you more options than if you have 10-6 to make 16.

This strategy recommends that you should not split 10s, that you should look to double down when you have eleven, against anything other than a dealer’s Ace, and that you stand with 12 against a dealer’s 6.

This may not be the way that you usually play but it has been mathematically determined to be the best way of increasing the odds in your favour.

Feel free to use our special strategy guide to see how the experts think you should play the game and see how it fits in with your own tactics and approach. Remember though that no strategy guide can account for betting patterns and size of bets, so it’s up to the player to determine those for themselves. Even then though there are some basics which you should always look to adhere to;

* Always split Aces, except when the dealer is showing an Ace
* Do not split a pair of 5s
* Stand on a hard 13 through to 16 if the dealer is showing a 6 or lower
* If the dealer is showing a 4,5 or 6 you should stick on 12
* You should always continue to hit until you have 17 or better if the dealer is showing a ten
* Always stand once you have a hard 17 or higher. The odds of you not busting are far too low for it to be worth the risk
* Always stand when you have A-8 or A-9

Every casino player knows that instinct plays a big part in playing and so, ultimately, guide or no guide, you’re going to have to make the big decisions yourself!

Blackjack Strategy

October 28th, 2010 admin No comments

Blackjack is not merely a game of chance, like many other casino games. This allows the player to feel that he can influence the game in his favor. It also creates more challenges and creates a thoughtful game to play. So, with that in mind, let’s take a look at some of the strategies available in Blackjack.

Playing Your Blackjack Hand: To Stand or to Hit
Most blackjack tips evolve around the decision to stand or hit. Standing means that you do not want any more cards, and you think that your chance of being closest to 21 is high. Hit means that you want another card turned over, so that you can increase your chances of reaching 21. The danger of hitting, of course, is that you might bust, or go over 21.

One of the most comprehensive and detailed strategies is to look at Blackjack strategy tables. These are tables that people have painstakingly put together that help you decide whether to turn over cards or hold, depending on what you have in your hand and what the dealer has. They detail every possible card combination that the player or dealer could possibly get. Note that Blackjack can be played with anything from one to eight decks of cards. The strategy tables will often stipulate the number of decks that are in play for their calculations. Obviously, keep in mind that the tables do not guarantee 100% success. They are built on probability, and probability is built on chance. So, they are better than playing blindly, but are not to be taken as a guarantee.

Card Counting in Blackjack
Blackjack card counting is another strategy to succeed at Blackjack. This means that you chart all of the cards that are turned in any game and take these into account with the number of decks that are in play. This is a long and tedious strategy, but one that people can have great success employing if they are diligent. The MIT Blackjack Team and other Blackjack Legends have made card-counting famous. Basically, you are working out in your head which cards have been used and the probability of other cards turning up. If low cards turned up the most in the past few games, then the assumption is that it’s more likely that high cards will now follow, and vice versa. Card counting can be a great winning blackjack strategy in a land-based casino. However, it will not work in an online casino, because the cards are shuffled after each hand in blackjack online.

Blackjack Betting Strategy
The third strategy to offer is betting. There is the idea of sensible betting. This means that you need to decide how much money you are willing to lose before you stop, and how much you want to win before you stop. You have to be quite disciplined to use just your bankroll and not to go over this amount. If you win, you should set aside your winnings and not reinvest this money. This allows you to stick to your target betting limit and to have something left in your pocket, should you start to lose. But there are also advanced Blackjack Betting Systems, like Parlay, Paroli and Oscar’s Grind.

With these ideas in mind, it’s time to play! Remember that you can always try a free game or two at the online casinos before investing your own money. Do some research before you jump in. Take a look at the strategy tables and be aware of how many decks of cards are in play. Set yourself a bankroll limit and practice card counting. With all of these ideas in mind, you should be able to have an enjoyable and successful game of Blackjack. Think 21 and enjoy!
